It's also the second most expensive ship in the fleet and has no focus what so ever. It has squadrons, it has nova cannons, it has lances, it has macrobatteries, it has extra sensor range, it has a trio of 3 DPS turrets (same DPS as a Battle barges bombardment cannon turrets) which are complete win. The Oberon does everything you want, half as well as you want. weird? It is nice and cheap (for a battleship), but seems to exist solely to smash modules from 18,000 while you go play with the rest of your fleet.

8x torpedoes plus dat ram, the guns are also nice but they come second to that luscious prow and the big engines. But the worst is: It costs only 22 points less than the far better Retribution. It's also prone to be left behind by the rest of the fleet because of it, which makes it easy to isolate and take out. You want a BS to tank damage, and yet it's more of a long range fire support, which can't even kite properly because it's incredibly slow and has very modest damage. It's also the only BS of the IN which has a speed of 160, which gives it a distinct edge over the others.Īpocalypse sounds nice on paper, but the thing is, that it's just a big, flying piniata. In 2v2 I'd argue that the Retribution beats them all, but you need to build around it, like taking Void Shield and MWJ for maximum impact torpedo salvos and surviveability in the thick. It has all the utility you'll ever need, deal a good amount of damage (for a carrier), provide an intimidating amount of air craft coverage and keep your admiral safe for relatively low overall cost. In campaign, there is no beating the Emperor. I think it kind of depends on what you play.
